And here’s the plan…

01 Oct

As you folks are no doubt aware, we’re going to have a change in leadership by mid-December 2011. There are, however October and November to get over with first!

I don’t know about you folks, but I have plans on sorting a few things and keeping as available as possible for everyone while I’m still here.

What’s a definite:

-Guild Tabard change in Octember – more on that in the About Us section when it’s done. Some of you may like it, others not. With that, I’ll have left four tabard designs and concepts behind for new guild leaders and officers to make use of should they run out of ideas.

-Halp! – that’s right. You guys need anything, just ask me. Well, except for Blizzard Store stuff. Not that I’m greedy, but.. you know.

-A guild leader voting. When I’m not playing, you’re a guild leader short, right? I’d like to fix that!

-A surprise for the next guild leader. I’ll try to make it as stunning as possible for a game.

-More guild funds in December. Yup! Something above 100k gold and whatever useful things I can scrape together will end up in the vault. That may not mean much if an expansion is around the corner, but I’m sure you’ll find good use for it anyway!

That said, do you have something to add? Plans of your own? A problem I can help out with? Fire away in the comments section, skype, ingame or the forum!

Guild Interests getting clearer…

09 Jun

You do remember the poll, yes? Well, we’ve looked into closer inspection and came to the decision that neither having events, nor some sort of ‘guild barracks/headquarter’ will work. Ever.

Now, the good news is that there’s a solution to that. The guild consists of freelance workers and has enough gold and supplies to keep everyone happy. There’s a tavern of sorts in Booty Bay, goes by the name of ‘The Salty Sailor’, if I recall this right. We can use that in the near future to ensure contracts and assignments for the guild. We’ll leave those open to the taking, and the first (we’re talking a required number here, not necessarily one person) to respond will get that assignment approved of.

Guild-internal RP will be limited to your in-character social and brothers/sisters-in-arms contacts. Within the next few days, we’ll work on adjusting the guild information to fit what I’ve just described here.

As for raiding, it’s a guild interest thing. If enough show dedication (so far, I count at least 7; 10 people are required for a full premade group), we’ll be tearing raids apart no problem.

Same thing goes for PvP.

Do you disagree with these news? If so, do post a comment, or in the forum. We’d like to know how you folks feel about it, and foremostly, how you could adjust our direction to fit your vision.

Guild Interests so far…

29 May

The poll hasn’t been forgotten, and we’re still observing it while it’s up. For now, I’m giving you an overview on which we’ll likely base our next decisions for the guild. Feel free to look at the results and decide for yourself:

RP-PvE (33%)

Tavern RP (20%)

Anything Goes (20%)

RP-PvP (13%)

Merchant RP (7%)

Clueless (7%)

Other (0%)

Up, up, up and…. Broken.

14 May

The forum is… Broken.

Help is appreciated.

Technically inclined? Give a shout, eh?

Edited to add: I just reenabled the somewhat out of date and somewhat broken forum software. This whole thing is giving me a headache. Use the provided forum until further notice.

And, it’s up!

05 May

Yup, everything’s done.

I’ve no idea what to write, but with time, we’ll be getting content into the forums, eventually fix the member list.

As far as things go ingame, I’m very impressed at what we’ve managed to establish so far. We keep this up, we’ll have no problems with being too lazy to earn guild levels. Just do stuff together, you’ll have fun without noticing we’re even leveling ;-)

However, I do feel we might be neglecting some RP-areas that could be crucial and defining for the Freelancers. What I’d like to see is some comments, or something in the forums, suggestions as to what we could be doing. RP-PvP? Spying? Merchandise? Markets? Auctions? Races? Tournaments? There could be profit in all of it. Shan’t we see what we could do next?

Things to do!

23 Apr

Here’s a list of things, regarding the site, we should accomplish by the end of April ’11:

  • Create areas (and content)
    1. About Us
    2. Members (Still doing some fine-tuning there…bloody thing is annoying, I tell you.) (It’s as good as done from our side. Continually checked on. Expect changes.)
    3. Apply Here! (?)
    4. Forum (On areas now)
    5. Links
  • Create and set up banner with guild emblem and colors on top (or just the emblem), because you know it’s awesome (Impossible with current theme.)
  • Make sure the shoutbox is both working and looking attractive to use and/or read (in other words, not contain half of the site)
  • List Events (especially regular ones) somewhere visible and obvious (Somewhat done.)
  • Make sure other interesting things are linked on the right side (Again, somewhat done.)
  • Keep asking guildies for feedback and suggestions (In process.)

Shouldn’t be a problem, right?
